Welcome to Calvary Baptist Church ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

We collect information that you voluntarily provide to us when you:

• Create an account: Name and email address
• Submit prayer requests: Prayer request content and whether you wish to remain anonymous
• RSVP to events: Your attendance preferences for church events
• Use the member directory: Profile information you choose to share with other church members (requires admin approval)
• Write gratitude journal entries: Personal gratitude content you enter each day, stored on our server and associated with your account
• Create notes: Sermon notes, Bible study notes, or other notes you write, including any file attachments you upload
• Track daily habits: Which days and times you completed each daily habit (content review, gratitude entry, and prayer), used to display your weekly progress
• Review daily content: A record of which daily devotional content items you have viewed, so completion can be tracked across devices

We also collect the following automatically when you use the app:

• Push notification device token: A device identifier provided by Apple or Google, used solely to deliver push notifications to your device. This token is stored on our server and is not used for any purpose other than sending you notifications you have opted into. You can remove your token at any time by disabling notifications in your profile settings.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our app services
• Enable community features like prayer support, the daily prayer wall, and event RSVPs
• Display your personal progress in the Daily Habits Hub (weekly completion calendar)
• Store your notes and gratitude journal entries so they are available across sessions
• Send you relevant push notifications about church events, prayer requests, and daily content (only for categories you have enabled)
• Facilitate member directory access (with your consent and admin approval)
• Respond to your inquiries and support needs

Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising, marketing, or profiling purposes. Your data is never used to track you across other apps or websites, and it is never provided to data brokers.

Within the app, certain information may be visible to others as follows:

• Church staff and administrators: For managing church activities and providing pastoral care
• Other church members — prayer requests: Prayer requests you submit without selecting "anonymous" are displayed on the community prayer wall for the current calendar day only. After midnight they are no longer shown to other members, though they remain stored on our server.
• Other church members — gratitude entries: Gratitude journal entries you submit are displayed on the community gratitude wall for the current calendar day only, visible to all members of the app.
• Other church members — directory profile: Profile information is only visible if you have requested and been approved for directory access.

Anonymous prayer requests will never display your name to other members.

Your personal notes, gratitude journal entries (beyond the current-day community wall), and daily habit progress are private and not shared with other members.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal information
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Opt out of push notifications entirely, or by category, via Notification Settings in the app
• Submit prayer requests anonymously so your name is not displayed to other members
• Control your directory visibility preferences

Children's Privacy

Our app is intended for general church community use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" above.
